Firstable, smooth effects which made the movies looked so real and ..COOL!! plus sexy dubbing voices that seems so damn right with the characters they brought with.

Secondable, the story was freakishly awesome, far away from boring!

And last but not the least, …well I don’t need three reasons to make me like the list of movies above when two is enough.

SINISTER

Berawal dari pencarian saya yang mencari referensi film thriller-horror untuk ditonton, secara ga sengaja saya menemukan film ini.

Dengan iming-iming Ethan Hawke sebagai actor utama, digarap oleh sutradara Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose) dan ditambah tampilan poster yang horror abis, akhirnya saya memutuskan untuk menonton film ini.

Suasana typical thriller-horor yang agak-agak suram membuka film ini dengan apik. Dengan mengambil setting rumah di pinggiran kota yang memang tidak terlalu ramai menjadi pilihan yang tepat untuk menghadirkan efek horror dalam Sinister ini.

Sentuhan “Insidious” di film terasa saat kelurga Ethan Hawke pindah dari rumah yang satu ke rumah yang lain, namun tetap tak bisa menghilangkan “sesuatu” yang mengikutinya.

Basic story, actor oke, tapi … >> well, perhaps because I have overwhelming expectation for this movie << saya merasa efek kejutnya ga se-wah Insidious. Dukungan efek music super horror di INSIDIOUS kurang berasa di Sinister. Ditambah lagi penampakan hantu yang kurang beragam di film ini. Mungkin itulah yang menjadikan film ini ga se-horror Insidious.

But this movie is still recommended to be watched. Kemampuan acting Ethan Hawke tentu ga boleh dilewatin gitu aja dong. Walaupun ga bisa bikin kita teriak-teriak histeris sampai tetangga gedor-gedor pintu sambil bawa parang, tapi lumayan deh buat bikin kita ditimpuk sendal jepit ame si emak J

MODUS ANOMALI

Nah ini salah satu film Indonesia yang denger-denger gemanya juga uda nyampai Hollywood sana.

Bahkan pas nonton trailernya pun saya sempet terkagum-kagum dan ga sabar pengen nonton film ini secara utuh.

Dan keinginan itu akhirnya terobati setelah berhasil nonton film yang memasang Rio Dewanto sebagai aktor utamanya.

But the problem suddenly begins right 25 minutes I watched this movie... BOOORING!

Kalau dilihat dari konsep sebenarnya film ini punya sesuatu yang bisa dijual dan bahkan booming seperti The Raid ataupun Rumah Dara.

Penonton dibuat penasaran awalnya saat Rio Dewanto tiba-tiba bangun dari timbunan tanah dan menemukan sebuah video pembunuhan seorang wanita di dalam sebuah rumah di tengah hutan, namun rasa penasaran itu mulai hilang saat 25 menit berikutnya penonton tidak menemukan kejutan-kejutan dengan konsep lain.

Menampilkan Rio Dewanto yang berakting sendiri dengan konsep "what the hell is going on" sampai menit ke – 60 adalah sesuatu yang tidak salah.

Namun mungkin "efek kejut" yang dihadirkan dalam film ini kurang "nendang", apalagi bagi anda pecinta film thriller.

Setelah 60 menit, penonton baru akan disajikan “the truth” dari film ini yang menurut saya sekali kali lagi juga kurang gregetnya dalam pengemasannya. Konsep pria psycho yang ditawarkan sebenarnya sangat bagus, just it’s failed to take viewers by surprise.

But overall I still recommend you folks to watch this movie, saat bioskop Indonesia didominasi oleh film-film horror bokep yang ga jelas konsep, actor-actressnya, dan juntrungan ceritanya, sutradara handal Joko Anwar datang dengan konsep cerita yang menurut saya cukup brilliant, just need some efforts for “efek kejutnya” biar lebih dapet gregetnya J

4 FILM SCI-FI WAJIB TONTON 2012

2012 memang tahun dimana film-film keren bergentayangan. Mulai dari super hero, sequel film sukses sebelumnya, ataupun film dengan mengusung ide cerita baru. So far, ini ni film-film yang sangat amat wajib untuk ditonton, Let's hit them!

1. THE AVENGERS

Inilah film yang jadi tempat arisan para super hero. Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow(Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye(Jeremy Renner), dan Thor (Chris Hemsworth) berkumpul di satu film, doesn't it sound awesome?!

And cause every super hero needs the villain so they put Loki (Tom Hiddleston) --brother of Thor-- as a trouble maker.

I thought they will involve Edward Norton (The Incredible Hulk) atau Eric Bana (Hulk) for Hulk's role, mengingat mereka adalah pemain untuk duology Hulk sebelumnya. But ofcourse Mark Ruffalo was a good choice either.

Question : why Spidey didn't get involved? karena si do’i sering ngutang tu jadi ga diajakin arisan deh sama si Iron Man dkk <--- penulis minta ditimpuk hahahhaa. Kidding!

Menurut beberapa sumber di internet (sorry! am not good reader, so I don't eat marvel's books) spiderman masuk dalam The New Avengers nantinya, maklum Spidey adalah superhero paling bontot (high five Spidey?!). Hopefully they won't replace Tobey Maguire later ;)

For me the most interesting hero went to Hawkeye, Huraay! Yep Jeremy Renner looked so good, even too good, hehe. Simple appearance with arrow and bow which showed his athletic hands, Ooohhhh…. (ngiler ngesot kayang).Si Aaron Cross di The Bourne Legacy ini menawarkan sosok yang sangat lain dari sosok William Brandt di Mission Imposible Ghost Protocol dalam The Avengers. Man of the year dah pokonya. Ogh! Can’t wait his next movie Hansel and Gretel : Witch Hunters bareng Gemma Artenton.

Okay! overall seru-seru aja sih The Avengers ini.

2. MEN IN BLACK III

Lucu, gelo, dan dudul. That's a kind of impression that I got from this movie. Scifi action dengan comedy terselubung adalah daya atrik film ini. Duology awal yang sukses bikin sequel yang ketiga ini ditunggu-tunggu. So folks no more talk...let's meet Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, dan Josh Brolin in this fabulous comedy-action :)

3. THE BATTLESHIP

Pada tahun 2008 bumi telah mengirimkan pesan ke planet yang jauhnya 20 tahun cahaya bernama Gliese 581 atau yang disebut planet-G. Diduga planet-G memiliki kondisi seperti bumi yang juga memiliki kehidupan di dalamnya. Diperkirakan pesan akan sampai pada tahun 2029. Yang menjadi pertanyaan adalah 'bagaimana bila planet-G tersebut mempunyai peradaban yang jauh lebih tinggi dari makhluk bumi?'. Film sci-fi action THE BATTLESHIP adalah film yang diadaptasi dari kisah nyata tersebut. Menawarkan teknologi animasi dan teknik film yang mengesankan. Mungkin sedikit ganjil dari segi cerita dimana aliens berteknologi tinggi mampu dikalahkan oleh kapal biasa yang bahkan telah dimuseumkan, serta sedikitnya aliens yang dikirim dari planet-G untuk melakukan invansi ke bumi. But, let's put aside a bit weird twist story and take what this movie offers from the fabulous effects and capability acting of Taylor Kitsch, Tadanobu Asano, Rihana, Liam Nesson, Brooklyn Decker etc. You'll find War Of The World, Pearl Harbour and Transformer in one movie. Seriously guys you really need to watch this sci-fi action! :)

4. LOCKOUT

Nah ini ni film scifi action yang aye demen :) Memasang Guy Pearce dan Maggie Grace sebagai peran utama bikin film ini enak ditonton. Twist film ini emang ga ribet, bahkan bisa dibilang terlalu 'biasa' , tapi film ini punya magnet yang kuat buat para penontonnya untuk mantengin sampai akhir cerita, what's that? it's Guy Pearce! Bener banget dah sutradara James Mather dan Stephen St. Ledger milih Guy Pearce untuk meranin Snow yang lil' bit jerk di film ini. Daya tarik 'bad boy' ala Guy Pearce bikin dia jadi pribadi yang ngeselin tapi ngegemesin (???), in short words...he's effortlessly charming ;)

And don't worry gals, walaupun film ini bergenre sci-fi action, tapi kita masih bisa mendapat sedikit efek komedi dari celetukan-celetukan Snow yang mampu bikin kita ketawa. Oia btw, motor yang dipakai Snow buat melarikan diri ke stasiun mirip ya sama konsep motornya Sam Flynn di Tron Legacy...!!? ;p
